Burke Homecoming 2015

Burke Homecoming 2015

When Abby first contacted me I was already booked for something the day her husband was scheduled to come home. I felt really bad and wanted so badly to capture this special moment for her.

A couple weeks pass and I saw her posting again asking for a photographer because she was still in need. My prior scheduled plans fell though so I messaged her and told her I was now available. Without question she booked me 3 days before her husband was to come home.

This homecoming was very special because not only was she seeing her husband for the first time in months, but her husband was also seeing that precious baby bump of hers for the first time. They found out she was pregnant 2 days before he left for deployment.

His friend even came to surprise him and welcome him home!

Welcome home!

Brett Homecoming 2015

Brett Homecoming

When Ashley contacted me to ask if I was available I couldn't help but get a really excited feeling that I was chosen to capture this special day for them.

There is something so special about getting asked to capture this special time in someone's life. That moment someone see their significant other for the first time in months. Everything leading up to that moment is full of mixed emotions. Happiness, love, nervousness, and finally excitement.

Even as the photographer some of the emotions get passed off onto me. I get excited for my client, happy that they finally get this special person in their lives back, and oddly enough I get nervous waiting for this moment to finally happy. I would be lying if I said I didn't shed a tear or two after that fist hug and first kiss.

anticipation is the worst but it is so worth it when you finally see them!

 The first hug...

 the first kiss

Did i mention I also made a video of this special moment for them! Check it out below!

Brenden's Riverside Senior Session

Brenden's Riverside Senior Session

When Brenden's mom contacted me about doing his photos I couldn't have been more thrilled. After all he does attend the high school I graduated from! (How cool is that!)

Brenden was a breeze to work with. Very down to earth and followed my directions perfectly and his pictures came out perfect. Mostly because his mom and girlfriend were there to make him laugh and have fun during the whole session.

Here is Brenden Class of 2015

Laura & James' Couples Session

Laura & James

These clients are more then just clients. They are my support system, the ones who stuck by my side and will continue to stick by my side. Laura & James, AKA Mom and James (step dad) were a blast to work with. Almost 11 years of marriage and they are still going strong.

and if you really know my mom and James this is how they actually are even though they love each other! 😋

Check Check and Check

Everyone has some sort of bucket list. They can be long or short. Some only have 1 thing on them. My bucket list is a little different from others, it doesn't involve trips to foreign places, or jumping out of planes.

Mine involves certain kinds of sessions. In my business I have done engagements, a wedding here and there, cake smash, newborn, and family sessions. Heck I have even done some commercial work.

Memory Layne Photography's Bucket List
1. Photograph a birth
1. Photograph a military homecoming

In the last 2 weeks I have booked both kinds of sessions and I could not be more excited.

In July I get to photograph my very first birth. There is nothing more beautiful then the gift of life. Part of the reason I photograph newborns is because I believe that each and everyone is a miracle and no 2 are exactly alike. Well unless they are identical twins, which I have had the honor or photographing 2 sets. Birth sessions are long, but there is nothing I would love more then to capture a couple becoming parents for the first time, or the second or third. Capturing the expression of dad or mom holding their baby for the first time. The baby's first breath, first cry, first time latching onto mom, or first bottle. I want to be able to snap away and give mom and dad moments they never see because they came and went so quickly.

Sometime in the next couple months I also get to photograph a military homecoming. The second most beautiful thing. The moment a wife gets her husband back, or a husband gets his wife back. The moment a dog gets its owner back. The moment children get their parent back. Capturing that long awaited first hug, first kiss, first words said. Capturing moments so they can look at them years down the road and remember the day and feeling like it was just yesterday.

So thank you to the ones who have made the start to 2015 year amazing. Can't wait to capture these moments for you.
